About Our Ireland
An Introduction:
Our-Ireland is a labour of love for husband and wife team Peter and Josephine.
We live in County Kerry, surrounded with mountains, lakes, rivers and beaches. It’s a wonderful, beautiful place to live and raise our young family. Josephine is a native of Kerry and I'm from Dublin (blow-in).
Our-Ireland.com combines our interests in our country, our heritage and our interests in new technology and the Internet as a means of communication.
Content and Design Development:
Currently the time we can spend developing Our Ireland is limited, hence the somewhat sparse look to the content. Images will soon start showing up in articles so stay tuned!
We will add articles to the site on a weekly basis and then (probably when things get out of hand altogether!) we’ll begin grouping content properly and settle on a suitable navigation system. If you would like to contribute an article, poem or essay to Our Ireland go to Contribute for guidelines.
The design will develop and evolve over time so come back regularly to see how things progress!
Financing the Project:
Any finances the website generates increases the time we can spend developing it and making it a better resource for its visitors.
Currently we are using Adsense on each page to generate some income from the website. When the site becomes established we will run sponsored adverts also. Businesses or organisations interested in advertising with us should go to our Advertise page.
Individuals or companies that feel Our Ireland is worthy of their support should go to our Sponsors page.
The Future of Our Ireland:
Our Ireland will continue to expand its Irish related content and become an increasingly useful resource for the Irish online community of all ages.
We aim to provide news and reviews on a weekly if not daily basis. The website will become more interactive; allowing our visitors to sign guest books, comment and share information on blogs and forums, share events, festival news and more.
