Oscar Wilde said...

Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

It’s Friday, celebrate with Oscar!

Oscar Wilde is well known for his larger than life personality and is quoted on a daily basis by people everywhere. If you listen very carefully you’ll hear one of his famous quotes whispered on the wind. Maybe not, look I’m no poet!

I’ve compiled 27 of Oscar’s quotes for your enjoyment. Savour each one as Oscar savoured life.

I’ve heard that Oscar’s last words on his death bed were, “Either that wallpaper goes or I do!” I’ve also heard from a different and forgotten source, that his last words were in fact, “I die as I lived, beyond my means.” If anyone knows the truth let me know.

Anyway, have a great weekend and try to remember some of Oscar Wilde’s famous words so you can impress your friends over a few pints tonight!

General News

I know, I’m a bad blogger.

There’s a host of guys and gals out there who seem to be able to blog every day about anything, but it ain’t me babe, no no no it ain’t me babe, it ain’t me you’re looking for…babe…

Moving on…The Newsletter

For everyone who has signed up to the Free Newsletter it’s great to have you on board. The reason I can’t respond to your comments individually is because of time constraints. The reason I haven’t actually sent on a newsletter just yet has also to do with time, and because I haven’t figured out how to use the newsletter service that I signed up to yet.

However, in line with a lot of your comments about wanting to find out more about your Irish/Celtic heritage, I’m getting together some content about one particular Irish guy who is well know for his greatest achievement. I’ll say no more but I think you’ll enjoy these articles.

All Are Welcome

Also, a number of Scottish decent visitors have also signed up for the newsletter. I know the site is called Our Ireland, and focuses on Irish in particular, but Scottish, Welsh, English, Gaul visitors (and descendants) are more than welcome to enjoy this website, help it grow and add their tupence’ worth if they want. Maybe I should have called the site ‘Us Celts’ J because that is the common bond we all share. In fact, anyone who is interested from any background is welcome to join in! It’s one world last time I looked.
